Borås Tech Challenge 2025

The theme was “Hack 4 Good” at the hackathon held on 8–9 May 2025 at the University of Borås. This year’s event saw a record number of participants, with just over 200 competitors divided into 39 teams. What made the 2025 hackathon particularly exciting was the diverse mix of participants – professionals, university students, and upper secondary school students all competed on equal terms.

Each team was free to interpret the theme and choose the focus of their solution. They also selected their own programming tools and had 23 hours to develop a prototype. Of the 39 teams that pitched their ideas to various juries, 12 advanced to the final round, where they had three minutes to present their solution to the main jury. Based on these pitches, the jury selected winners in five different categories.
